“Congratulations to everyone at South Fremantle Senior High School for your wonderful achievement of becoming the first accredited Carbon Neutral school in Australia.”
SFSHS successfuly embarked on a campaign to reduce their fossil fuel use, implement renewable energy projects and regenerate the landscape through tree planting.
“They have set a wonderful example in achieving this by fostering community partnerships and developing a ‘whole‐school’ approach,” Adele said.
“It is a testament to everyone who got behind this idea, including Principal Geri Hardy and the school’s Carbon Neutral Project Officer, Kathy Anketell, and I look forward to other schools now taking up the challenge.”
