Adele calls for prioritised funding for John Curtin College of the Arts

Adele joined Premier Colin Barnett and Education Minister Peter Collier for the official opening of a new science lab at John Curtin College of the Arts, urging the Government to prioritise funding the school’s master plan this year.

“These gifted students should have access to the types of facilities that gifted students at Churchlands, Shenton and Perth Modern have,” Adele said.

“John Curtin has been neglected for too long and $20 million would go a long way towards bringing it into the 21st century.”

“The school needs new toilet blocks, staff rooms, class rooms, rehearsal space and music facilities.”

“If the Government fails to act now, the problem will be compounded when the Year 7s join the school in 2015, when the projected student population is expected to reach 1500,” Adele said.
