Cockburn Cement Inquiry

A parliamentary inquiry has been launched that will investigate pollution issues and health complaints arising from the operations of Cockburn Cement in Munster. Recently I was the only Member of Parliament in the Lower House to vote against Cockburn Cement being granted a further 20 year licence, until it puts controls in place to reduce pollution that affects local residents. If you have been experiencing problems with emissions from Cockburn Cement, I urge you to make a submission to the Legislative Council Parliamentary Inquiry, outlining your experience and concerns. Submissions must be submitted by November 5, 2010 and should be addressed to:

Ms Linda Omar (Committee Clerk)
Environment and Public Affairs Committee
Legislative Council
Parliament House

Further information is contained in the media release and on the parliamentary website.
