East Fremantle Primary School – New Building Plans
I have been working with the school community to resolve a complex situation at the East Fremantle Primary School which involves the demolition of some unsafe building works and the implementation of a new building plan drafted by the school community. I am pleased to say that we seem to be making some progress on the issue which had stalled since early last year. A ramp had been installed at the school which did not meet Australian safety standards and its size and alignment has caused problems for teachers and students trying to access the playground and classrooms. The first interagency meeting with the school is scheduled later this month to discuss a new set of plans that have been developed by the school community, with input from a number of parents who have specialised professional skills in planning, architecture and construction. I look forward to seeing the new plans implemented and will continue to advocate on behalf of the school community.
