Fremantle Greens MP Adele Carles has travelled to the Chester Forest to discuss the terms of a possible moratorium on logging at Chester Forest with Forest Rescue.
“I have spoken with the Minister for Forestry, Terry Redman, at Parliament and believe that a moratorium on logging of Chester Forest may be achieved,” Ms Carles said.
The Greens MP has written to the Minister today.
“It’s time for a circuit breaker at Chester and I believe that the Minister is prepared to listen,” she said.
Ms Carles has been a long-time support of the campaign to save the Chester Forest, visiting the camp with her children 18 months ago.
She organised a fundraiser in Fremantle early last year to support Forest Rescue.
